CENTRAL FALLS – The state’s $22.6 million allocation secured as part of the congressional spending bill for fiscal year 2023 will include $2.6 million to renovate the former Osram-Sylvania manufacturing facility into residential and commercial spaces.
The latest earmark, announced by Rep. David N. Cicilline last week, will support the redevelopment of 36 residential units, commercial space, parking and open space.
Plans for the former lighting manufacturing site include 110 residential units, at a mix of market and affordable housing rates.
The recently announced funding will also include an $840,000 allocation toward Smithfield’s water and sewer project, which will be used in part to benefit existing manufacturing projects.
