PROVIDENCE – Two Rhode Island marinas were among the 21 marinas honored in the 2018 Boaters’ Choice Awards Elite Fleet tier curated by Marinas.com, the website announced Thursday.
The honor, new this year, expands the site’s criteria for the Boaters’ Choice Awards honor to highlight marinas that “went above and beyond,” representing the top 0.2 percent of rated marinas on the site in the United States and the Caribbean.
This year, the Dutch Harbor Boat Yard in Jamestown and the Newport Yachting Center Marina in Newport were honored in the elite tier.
The full Boaters’ Choice Awards recognized 217 marinas this year, reflecting all marinas with more than a 4-star rating average. More than 20 local marinas were named to the list, including the two Elite Fleet honorees in Rhode Island.
