- Named Awards, for people who have made important contributions to preservation. Preservation Project Awards, for building and landscape rehabilitation or restoration projects.
- Public Preservation Awards, for advocacy, community and educational efforts related to preservation.
- Stewardship Awards, for the long-term preservation of buildings or landscapes.
