LINCOLN – A $30 million casino hotel is nearing completion in Lincoln, an addition to the Twin River Casino that will allow the facility to attract overnight customers.
The four-story hotel is one of two casino hotels now under construction at a Twin River facility. The Tiverton-based casino hotel also is underway, anticipated to open in October.

Between the two facilities, Twin River’s ownership group, Twin River Management Group Inc., is spending $170 million.
“Which is part of our long-term strategy to more successfully compete against casinos that are imminent on our border,” said John Taylor, chairman of the board for the company. He led reporters and photographers on a walking tour of the new hotel in Lincoln on Tuesday.
The hotel will not fundamentally change the market for the Lincoln casino, he said, which will not become a resort or “destination” casino. But it will allow the company to offer accommodations for its guests to dine and stay overnight.
Depending on the demand, once the hotel opens, the company may pursue a second phase building.

The 136-room hotel now under construction is expected to be finished this summer. Room bookings will begin in the spring. The facility is 74,000 square feet, has 16 suites with capacity for two and three bedrooms, and will feature an in-ground pool facing a courtyard, spa and fitness center.
The construction manager is A/Z Corp., headquartered in North Stonington, Conn., with offices in Hopkinton. The general contractor is Excell Construction Corp. of East Greenwich.
