Eight local Panera Bread bakery-cafes helped raise money to donate to the Operation Dough-Nation fund, which has partnered with Children’s Friend & Services. Totaling just under $26,000, the funds were generated by bakery-cafes in Newport, Wakefield, East Greenwich, Warwick, Cranston and Smithfield, including Panera Bread bakeries in Seekonk and North Attleboro.
The donation was made at the sixth-annual Walk For Children, a fundraising day held at Roger Williams Park hosted by Children’s Friend & Services. Panera Bread was among the many key corporate sponsors, including Amica Mutual Insurance Co., Paramount Properties Group Inc, Washington Trust, MetLife, Partridge Snow and Hahn and United Health of New England
All the Panera Bread franchises that participated in the Operation Dough-Nation are owned by the Howley Bread Group of Cumberland. The franchisee owns and operates a total of 20 bakery-cafes in New England. The Operation Dough-Nation program results from cash donations made by customers at each bakery-café. &#8226
