NEWPORT – Newport Seen, an online society magazine that debuted last year, recently received two awards from the Connecticut Press Club.

The organization honored Newport Seen in the categories of Best Online Web Development/Creation and Best Online Writing. The site’s two creators, Linda Phillips and Thomas Roskelly, were praised for creating “a social, cultural and philanthropic diary of America’s First Resort.”

One of the judges, Kye Parsons, said the site was “intended for an upscale audience and the graphics and fonts [designed by Roskelly] have a sophisticated look. It reminds me of an online version of Town & Country magazine.”

Newport Seen debuted last June and has racked up 250,000 page views from 101 countries since it began publishing.
