WARREN – Hope & Main, the nonprofit culinary business incubator, is celebrating its first birthday, along with the 100th birthday of its building, the Main Street School, on Oct. 11 with a turn-of-the-century-themed fall festival.
In its first year, Hope & Main said it has helped launch more than 50 businesses, pumping $1.14 million into the local economy and creating 124 jobs.
The event will feature a pie-eating contest, square dancing with the Town Howlers Square Dance Club and a class reunion for everyone who attended school at 691 Main St., as well as a photo booth, historical artifacts from 1915, carnival food and treats, music and more.
Those who submit a photo of their school yearbook picture or photo of the school will be entered into a raffle to win $100.
The celebration also coincides with the last Schoolyard Market of the season. The market features a variety of vendors, such as farmers and fisherman, along with workshops and demonstrations, according to Hope & Main.
