TD Bank to add 100 jobs in Mass.

BOSTON – TD Bank plans to add more than 100 jobs in Massachusetts during the next 18 months, the Boston Business Journal reported on Thursday.

Mark Crandall, TD Bank’s regional president for Massachusetts and Rhode Island, said about a dozen new branches will open by the end of 2012, after adding seven branches the Bay State last year.

It has also added 12 new small-business lending officers across the state.

“We’re committed to small business lending and we’re actively looking for loans,” said Crandall to the BBJ.

It is the fourth-largest retail bank in Massachusetts with 160 branches statewide and plans to add most of its new locations in Boston and nearby suburbs.

According to The Boston Globe, the expansion is largest build-out of new branches in Massachusetts since Citibank added 31 branches in the Boston area between 2006 and 2008.

  1. To your erudite readers who recognize TD Bank did not get one dime from Mass economic development officials for the expansion of branches in Mass. Only RI taxpayers get pants in providing TD Bank with incentives (project status) upon the reccommendation of EDC management and the governor. First TD Bank and then Hasbro. Another loss for RI taxpayers
