Jeanne LaChance | Thundermist Health Center president and CEO
After more than 20 fulfilling years working in hospital administration elsewhere, I have reached a new level of satisfaction here at Thundermist, the result, I believe, of a culture that values the health of our patients to an extraordinary degree.
This year we’re celebrating the 50th anniversary of our organization. Many patients have been coming to us for decades. We care for their family and friends, too. This close relationship is remarkable and an important reason we can provide the quality of care that we deliver.
Patients often stop me at meetings or restaurants when they realize I work at Thundermist. They feel compelled to tell me their story and the connection they feel to our organization.
These stories are inspiring and often include a way in which a member of our staff has helped the patient make a dramatic and often life-altering change to benefit their health and well-being. Sometimes it is just to say thank you for being there for them. But no matter what they say, the depth of connection expressed by these individuals inspires my work and validates the culture we have built at Thundermist.
It is a culture that has been developed, thoughtfully and passionately, by the entire staff. Over the past year, we created a document describing what it means to “Be Thundermist.” Today, it is the first test to see if anyone interested in joining Thundermist will fit in and be able to make that most important connection with our patients.
