PROVIDENCE – Rhode Island gasoline prices have fallen for the seventh straight week, to 19 cents below their month-ago and 18 cents below their year-ago level, according to AAA Southern New England.
In AAA’s Sept. 4 survey, self-serve prices for unleaded regular gas averaged $2.679 in Rhode Island, 1 cent below last week’s average local price. Nationwide, the average price was 10 cents higher at $2.779.
The nonprofit auto club found local prices for self-serve regular had a range of 26 cents, from a low of $2.599 to a high of $2.859.
Other local average prices were $2.809 per gallon for midgrade unleaded, $2.939 per gallon for premium unleaded and $2.949 per gallon for diesel.
