AAA: State’s gasoline prices still rising

The price of gasoline continues to rise in Rhode Island, with the average price for a gallon of gasoline increasing 3 cents this week, according to AAA Southern New England’s latest price survey.

The auto club’s May 14 survey found the average price per gallon of regular, unleaded self-serve gasoline to be $1.76, with self-serve midgrade costing $1.85; premium, $1.93; and diesel, $1.67. The corresponding prices for full-serve gasoline were $1.85, $1.94, $2.04 and $1.72, respectively.

According to AAA, this week marks the sixth consecutive week that the price of gasoline has increased three or more cents.
