BRISTOL – The American Institute of Architects Rhode Island has given five scholarships of $3,000 each to undergraduates in the Roger Williams University School of Architecture, Art and Historic Preservation.
The awards were part of the institute’s seventh annual scholarship program. Students were eligible if they were studying architecture at Rhode Island institutions or were Rhode Island residents enrolled in schools outside of the state. The committee considered academics, personal statements, work examples and letters of recommendation to make their choice.
The winners from Roger Williams were fifth-year dual bachelor’s/master’s program student Erin Blackbird of Seekonk, second-year student Joseph Gallagher of Hartsville, Pa.; third-year student Nicholas Griffin of Hampstead, N.H.; third-year student Lauren Homer of Ashland, Mass.; and second-year student Kostika Spaho of Warren.
