in Providence for 4 families

PROVIDENCE – The nonprofit social service provider Amos House has renovated a four-unit building in Providence that will provide modern, affordable housing for four families.

The project was completed with funds from Building Homes Rhode Island, The Providence Journal Charitable Legacy Fund and an anonymous donor.

Construction was completed by the Warwick-based Stand Corp. and managed by the R.I. Housing and Mortgage Finance Corp. The architect was Providence-based David Presbrey Architects.

The project highlights the belief that affordable housing can be visually beautiful, according to an Amos House news release.

Living spaces were designed by bloggers and furnished by Raymour & Flanigan.

Bloggers included atcharlotteshouse.com, emilyeveryday.com, fwmadebycarli.com, therathproject.com, shineyourlightblog.com, and weekendcraft.com.

Housewares and bedroom furniture were provided by The Home Depot Foundation, Bob’s Discount Furniture and Cardi’s.
