Artificial-limb firm gets national accreditation

SOUTH KINGSTOWN – South County Artificial Limb & Brace received accreditation from the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics Inc., Robert C. James, founder of the firm, announced recently.
The firm, which has four patient-care facilities in Wakefield, Woonsocket, Pawcatuck, Conn, and Plainfield, Conn., was established in 1976.
Services include: state-of-the-art artificial limbs; custom ankle-foot orthoses for foot drop, instability and stroke patients; custom arch supports for stability and sports enthusiasts; and diabetic in-depth shoes and inserts.
The national certification process includes an extensive review by a team of auditors of 140 standards that directly correlate to patient care. &#8226
