Audubon Society holds Earth Day essay, art contest

The Audubon Society of Rhode Island is inviting students in grades 4 to 12 to participate in a contest in celebration of Earth Day 2007, entitled “How will our town have enough water when I am mayor?”
Students are being asked to share their ideas for ensuring their town’s water supply. Each entrant must submit an original one-page typed or two-page handwritten essay, along with a diagram/illustration. Monetary and other prizes will be awarded in four categories: grades 5-6, grades 7-8, grades 9-10 and grades 11-12.
Deadline for entries is March 31; to see contest rules, visit www.asri.org.
Awards will be made April 21 at Audubon’s Environmental Education Center in Bristol.
