Two Bank of America associates recently conducted a “Banking 101” workshop for 65 local high school students in partnership with Roger Williams University’s “Bridge to Success Program” (BTS). Held on the Roger Williams University campus in Bristol, the program focused on fiscal management, products and services, and credit scores and how they affect a person’s financial outlook.
The workshop was conducted by Bank of America associates Makeba Hardy-Thomas and Rawn Duncan. Both Hardy-Thomas and Duncan are volunteers for Team Bank of America.
The Bridge to Success Program is an 11-day SAT prep and college-readiness program funded by the Bank of America Charitable Foundation and Roger Williams University. In addition to SAT prep courses, BTS provides life-skills workshops, study groups, sports activities, and cultural and recreational outings.
Bank of America has been a partner of the Bridge to Success Program since its inception in 2002 when the bank pledged a multi-year, $300,000 grant to the program. Attendance this year was the largest in its seven-year history, with 55 juniors and seniors participating. &#8226
