PROVIDENCE – Bank Rhode Island says it is bolstering its franchise banking division by hiring an experienced lender as senior vice president of the division.
The bank says John Bunch comes to BankRI with more than two decades of experience in the franchise finance space, specializing in the quick-service restaurant market.

In his role, Bunch will be responsible for generating new commercial business and arranging customized financial solutions for quick-service franchisees throughout the bank’s target market, according to the bank. He reports to Thomas Fitzgerald, executive vice president and BankRI’s franchise banking commercial team leader. BankRI is a subsidiary of Brookline Bancorp Inc.
Bunch previously worked in senior-level franchise finance positions for Midcap Financial Investment Corp., which is managed by Apollo Global Management Inc.
