The Kansas-based engineering consulting services company – which has a Providence office – had its inaugural year offering employees its 100% paid parental-leave program for adopting, fostering or birthing a child. Employees on the job less than a year get two weeks’ leave while all others receive four.
“We want new parents to have time to bond with their child without the stress of missing a paycheck. As a family-oriented company, this program reflects our values and helps us support our people during one of life’s most meaningful moments,” said Jenny Day, benefits and well-being manager/human resources.
The company also recently extended its health and well-being benefits to newer employees in Rhode Island early in 2024, Day said. Terracon’s well-being program, Day says, helps employees detect and address serious health conditions early.
One company employee said the program – which offers women’s health, financial tips, and tricks for falling asleep such as the Calm App – “changed my life.”
