PROVIDENCE – Nine Benny’s remain operational as part of the company’s wind down program, a representative for Benny’s announced Wednesday.

Five of those Benny’s are in Rhode Island. The company previously announced plans to cease operations by the end of the calendar year.

The following stores Rhode Island Benny’s remain open for now:

  • Branch Ave. in Providence
  • Putnam Pike in Greenville
  • Atwood Ave., Cranston
  • Post Road, East Greenwich
  • Kingstown Road in Wakefield.

In Massachusetts the Taunton/Raynham store, Fall River store, Plymouth store and Dennisport store remain open for now.

Merchandise from the other shuttered stores has been consolidated into the nine remaining shops.

“All stores still have, in particular, a healthy selection of Christmas lights and decorations. And, beginning tomorrow, Thursday Nov. 9, everything will be marked at 50 percent off. Excluding store equipment and fixtures,” said Dante Bellini, a spokesman for Benny’s.
