PROVIDENCE – The 1773 cottage where Betsey Williams, the great-great-great-granddaughter of Roger Williams, was born and lived with her sister, Rhoda, has been restored and will be reopened in a celebration on Thursday night.

Upon Betsey Williams’s death in 1871, she bequeathed the structure and 102 acres of surrounding farmland to the city of Providence, which then created Roger Williams Park.
