Bluestreak to relocate headquarters to Conn.

Bluestreak, the Newport-based provider of online marketing services and technology, disclosed plans last week to move its headquarters to southwest Connecticut. The move is an effort to put the company’s top executives and a few key salespeople in closer proximity to its strong client base in New York City, according to Annette Tonti, a founder of Bluestreak.

Roughly 40 employees, mostly engineering, product-development and client-services personnel, will remain at Bluestreak’s Newport office. Also, Bluestreak’s chief operating officer, Gavin Finn, will stay based at the Newport office. The company has nearly 80 employees overall, at offices in New York, Dallas, San Francisco and the UK.

“These 40 people are staying put (in Newport),” Tonti said. “We still think the future is bright, and this doesn’t mean that in the future we won’t be hiring up in Rhode Island.”
The company plans to move to its new headquarters, to be located somewhere between Westport and Greenwich, sometime before the end of the year, Tonti said.
