Bristol County Savings Bank gives to 40 area nonprofits

TAUNTON – Bristol County Savings Bank in Taunton has awarded grants totaling $271,313 to 40 nonprofit organizations in Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts.

The bank provided the grants through its charitable foundation, which has given more than $19 million to hundreds of nonprofits since 1996, the bank said.

In the latest round of grants, the bank provided a total of $64,918 to 10 nonprofits in Rhode Island. The single-largest recipient was the Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket, which received $12,500.

In the “Southcoast” area of Massachusetts, including New Bedford, the bank provided $122,200 in grants to 19 nonprofits. In the Taunton-Attleboro area, the bank provided $84,195 in grants to 11 nonprofits.

“In keeping with the bank’s mission of supporting our local neighborhoods to meet the growing needs of the population, our foundation is proud to grant more than a quarter of a million dollars to these 40 nonprofit organizations doing good work in the communities we serve,” Patrick J. Murray, the bank’s president and CEO, said in a statement.
