Bryant hires director of faculty development

SMITHFIELD – Robert Shea has been hired as Bryant University’s director of faculty development, assigned to help teachers with classroom and curricular innovation.
He also will collaborate with faculty members to enhance methods for evaluating teaching.
Shea previously served at the University of Rhode Island, where he was director of the Office of Student Learning, Outcomes Assessment and Accreditation, and the assistant director of the Instructional Development Program.
In 2010, Shea was named a Teagle Assessment Scholar, a national program run by the Center of Inquiry in the Liberal Arts at Wabash College. The program aims to help colleges and universities use evidence to strengthen the impact of a liberal arts education. &#8226
