Butler hosting conference on spirituality, health

PROVIDENCE – Butler Hospital is hosting its 12th annual Spirituality Conference on Monday, April 23, with guest speaker Joel Ziff, an author and expert on spirituality and psychotherapy, speaking on “Utilizing Psychological, Religious, and Spiritual Resources in Times of Crisis.”
Ziff is a licensed psychologist in private practice in Newton, Mass., and a faculty member at Lesley University and Cambridge College. His presentation will include an overview of the psychological and biological impact of belief and attitude upon health and mental health, as well as a review of approaches to treatment that are used to help patients and clients strengthen constructive beliefs and attitudes.
The program runs from noon to 4:30 p.m. in Butler’s Ray Conference Center; the cost is $55, including lunch and three education credits for physicians, psychologists, social workers, nurses, mental health counselors and therapists.
