  1. Here we go again. Just think about the costs involved in this process. Highly trained and paid executives on both sides wrangling over rates–and this happens in every hospital. None of it adds anything to actual patient care of course, it is all administrative overhead.
    A powerful health insurance Exchange, as mandated by the Federal reform law, could slice through all this foolishness and rationalize rates paid to providers as well as premiums paid by consumers and businesses. Hopefully the General Assembly will move on the establishment of a broad and strong exchange in the upcoming session. We are all paying for this foolish and wasteful soap opera in the meantime.
