The Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce and When Work Works, a national initiative to highlight the importance of workplace effectiveness, are inviting local employers to apply for the annual Sloan Awards for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility.
The award recognizes companies that make flexibility a priority in their workplace through flexible schedules, job sharing, and telecommuting, among other policies.

“Studies have shown that employees with flexible workplaces are more engaged in their jobs, more committed to helping others, more likely to stay with their employers and more satisfied with their jobs,” said Chamber President Laurie White.
