Citizens Bank inks partnership deals with New York Giants, New Jersey Devils

PROVIDENCE – Philadelphia Eagles fans, cover your ears.

Citizens Bank recently announced a new partnership in which it will serve as the official bank for the New York Giants, according to a news release.

The Rhode Island-based bank has also secured a deal to serve as the presenting partner and official bank for the New Jersey Devils and its home arena in Newark.

The new agreements come on the heels of two major bank acquisitions by parent company Citizens Financial Group Inc. – HSBC U.S. Bank NA and Investors Bancorp. – that dramatically increases Citizens’ presence and market share in the New York metro area.

Under the agreement with the Giants, Citizens signage will be posted at training camp and on its Training Camp Report on MSG Networks. The Prudential Center in Newark, home to the Devils, will be renamed Citizens Tower.

Citizens “game-ready bankers” will be at both teams’ home games, with fan activities, digital engagements and other offerings. The Citizens brand will be featured and visible at games, as well as on team broadcasts and social media, the release stated.
