Citizens Bank upgrading teller machines at over 1,500 branches

Getronics, a $4.1 billion global IT services company announced that Citizens Bank has selected Getronics’ Globalfs teller system for its 1,500 plus branches.

Citizens Financial Group, Inc. is a $132 billion commercial bank holding company headquartered in Providence.

Getronics is based in Billerica, Massachusetts.

“We needed a system that was easy for tellers to learn and to work with, and easy to change when we needed to do so. We have had a long and healthy relationship with Getronics that when combined with their track record of delivery and the strength of their technology, led naturally to this decision to upgrade our teller system to Getronics’ Globalfs software,” William K. Wray, Citizens Bank’s group executive vice president and chief information officer, stated.

Citizens Bank’s recent acquisition of Charter One added approximately 700 new branches. Getronics, a provider of vendor independent Information Technology (IT) solutions and services, is already assisting in transitioning those branches to a common hardware environment at the teller station. At the same time, Getronics will be working with Citizens Bank to deploy an updated teller system.

“The faster and more effectively we implement a new solution, the sooner our clients benefit from optimizing their customer sales and service,” said Kevin Roche, Getronics general manager for North America and vice chairman of Getronics’ Board of Management. “Getronics will begin working with Citizens Bank immediately to meet the bank’s short and long-term objectives.”
