PROVIDENCE – The 2018 Providence Symposium – Preservation and Place: The Culture Landscape of Providence – will open tonight with a free lecture on the natural history of cities by the designer of CityWalk.
The opening will feature landscape architect Ron Henderson, who directs the landscape architecture and urbanism program at the Illinois Institute of Technology. He is the designer of CityWalk, an 8-mile pedestrian and bicycle route that will course through Providence. His keynote begins at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Skyline at Waterplace. Admission is free.
The three-day symposium is organized by the Providence Preservation Society.
