Claudia Cardozo a business development officer at ACCION USA, to address RILPBN Friday April 8, 2011 6:00 PM at El Macuto (Ada’s Creation) 1137 Broad Street Providence, RI 02905. she will be talking about access to capital for micro-entrepreneurs in Rhode Island.

Claudia is currently a business development officer at ACCION USA, where she facilitates access to capital for micro-entrepreneurs in Rhode Island; hard to reach target populations through strategic partnerships, and education of small business owners of ACCION USA loans and financial technical resources on a continue basis. She was selected as one of 60 Rhode Island leaders participants in Leadership Rhode Island (LRI) a 10-month Program.

She was the recipient of the Small Business Administration’s 2010 Rhode Island Minority Small Business Champion of the Year; while she was employed at the RI Economic Development Corporation (RIEDC). During her three and a half years at RIEDC Claudia assisted several hundred small business owners and entrepreneurs access business resources. Prior to that, Claudia spent two and a half years as a Property and Casualty insurance agent.

She has served on several advisory initiatives such as: Emerging Women in Business, Broad Street Rehabilitation Initiative, Census 2010 Complete Count Committee, and Empowering Latino Business Owners Seminars. Claudia is currently an advisory board member of United Way of RI and a board member of the International Institute of Rhode Island.
