PROVIDENCE – Providence-based Ivy League school, Brown University, was named the 14th-best college or university in College Choice’s 100 Best Colleges and Universities 2017 ranking, according to an early May release by the college resource website.
Sandwiched between Pomona College in Claremont, Calif. (No. 13) and Columbia University in New York (No. 15), Brown was described in the ranking as a nonprofit, New England Association of Schools and Colleges-accredited institution in Providence and “one of the nine Colonial Colleges that was founded before the American Revolution.”

These include professional degrees in the realm of engineering, public health and medicine. There are a variety of dual degrees available as well; while the school does not currently offer fully online degrees, online courses are slowly becoming available.
“Brown University has many traditions that mark the school year, one of which is the Spring Weekend, a music festival that has featured famous musicians such as Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen among others. The school also has Greek life, societies and clubs, as well as intramural sports teams and more for students to enjoy.”
Harvard University (No. 1), Princeton University (No. 2) and Stanford University (No. 3) round out the top three schools in the nation, according to College Choice’s 2017 rankings.
