PROVIDENCE – College Choice, an independent publication covering higher education resources, has released its ranking of the best colleges in Rhode Island 2017, giving highest honors to Brown University.
The rankings, announced on Wednesday, were based off a number of educational metrics like student-to-faculty ratio, admitted student test scores, return on investment and overall cost.

Providence College was ranked second in the state with a score of 91.22. The college received high marks for its faith-based educational foundation and propensity for student and faculty research.
Providence was followed closely by Bryant University which received a college choice score of 88.55. Bryant was recognized for its highly ranked undergraduate business program and high percentage of employed graduates.

- Bryant University, 88.55
- Salve Regina University, 82.17
- University of Rhode Island, 81.78
- Roger Williams University, 80.63
- Johnson & Wales University, 76.8
- Rhode Island College, 75.21
College Choice did not include information on what metrics colleges were required to satisfy to be ranked and College Choice could not be reached for comment at the time of publication.
