College Scorecard says Bryant produces highest-earning students

PROVIDENCE – Bryant University, Brown University and Providence College give students the most earning potential after attending, according to the U.S Department of Education’s latest College Scorecard.

The scorecard, which looks at median earnings of former students who received federal financial aid 10 years after entering the school, showed Bryant, which is in Smithfield, at the top of the list for earnings potential with a $64,500 salary after attending. It said that 90 percent of students who attend this school earned, on average, 90 percent more than those with only a high school diploma.

Nationally, the median earnings for former students is $33,400.

Brown was next with a $59,700 salary, followed by PC with $57,700, and Newport’s Salve Regina University at $49,700.

  • Roger Williams University, Bristol, $47,400
  • Rhode Island School of Design, $44,300
  • Rhode Island College, $39,100
  • New England Institute of Technology, East Greenwich, $38,500
  • Johnson & Wales University, Providence, $35,300
  • Community College of Rhode Island, Warwick, $29,400

In Southeastern Massachusetts, Stonehill College in Easton alumni had a $58,500 salary after attending, followed by University of Massachusetts Dartmouth at $45,900, Wheaton College in Norton at $44,100 and Bristol Community College, $28,200.

  1. Keep in mind that the score card only tracks data of those students who are federally funded through aid. Bryant and PC have far less federal funded students than URI, RIC, and CCRI. Know what you are reading and comparing.
