CRANSTON, RI, December 11, 2008 – Concord Health Services, Inc., of Cranston, R.I., was named Small Business of the Year (2008) by the South Eastern Economic Development (SEED) Corporation, from 350 candidates. Selection criteria included enhancement of the region’s economy through creation of jobs, community service, and financial performance.

David DiFilippo, president of Concord Health Services, a registered nurse, started the agency in 1997. The company has evolved over from private home care to a full-service agency with 175 employees.

In conjunction with SEED’s Small Business Administration (SBA) program, the Bank of Fall River, Fall River, Mass., provided the financing to Concord Health Services that enabled the agency to purchase a 4,300-square-foot office building, and expand its services and staff.

“We congratulate David DiFilippo and Concord Health Services on this well-deserved recognition,” said John Clifford, president and CEO of Bank of Fall River. “It is always a proud moment when we provide financing for a growing business and then share in the celebration of its job growth and service expansion.”
