PROVIDENCE – The R.I. Convention Center Authority announced today that revenue for fiscal year 2007 totaled $14.36 million, a record high and 8.4 percent more than in fiscal year 2006. At the same time, net income for the RICCA increased 18.3 percent to $2.78 million.
The results come despite the Dunkin’ Donuts Center being closed for four months during the fiscal year, during which it generated revenue of $5.1 million, a slight increase from FY06.
“The Authority and its strategic partners have worked hard over the past several years to bring meetings and conventions to the facility and provide value to our clients,” said RICCA Chair David A. Duffy.
The Dunkin’ Donuts Center hosted 123 events during the eight months it was open in FY07 (Sept. 22, 2006, through May 21, 2007), compared with 118 events during fiscal year 2006.
“The renovations to the Dunk, in combination with the longstanding capital improvement plan in place at the Convention Center, will ensure the state’s investment in the complex in supported.”

The R.I. Convention Center Authority manages and operates the R.I. Convention Center, the Dunkin’ Donuts Center and related facilities.
