Cox, Telemundo Network earn awards for service to Hispanics

COX COMMUNICATIONS and Telemundo Network will be honored this fall at the 16th Annual Hispanic Television Summit for Hispanic TV programming.

WEST WARWICK – Broadband company Cox Communications and Spanish-language broadcaster Telemundo Network will be honored at the 16th Annual Hispanic Television Summit for their commitment to serving Hispanics, according to a news release.

The fall awards luncheon is presented each year by Broadcasting & Cable and Multichannel News. This year’s edition will take place Oct. 4 in New York.

“Cox and Telemundo have each been associated with this summit nearly every year. We are excited to honor these two great corporations,” said Charlie Weiss, vice president of the broadcast, cable and broadband television group at Future U.S.

Luis Caballero, who directs marketing strategies at Cox that have grown revenue within the Latino market, will accept the Cox award for Corporate Leadership in Hispanic Television and Video in the Provider category.

Previous Provider category award recipients include Altice USA, AT&T/DIRECTV, Comcast Cable, Dish, Time Warner Cable and Verizon, according to the release.

Broadcast TV network Telemundo Network will receive the Award for Corporate Leadership in Hispanic Television and Video within the Programmer category. The network provides original Spanish-language content to U.S. households in 210 markets, according to the release. The award will be accepted by Luis Silberwasser, president of Telemundo Network.
