The Rhode Island grants are part of the $3.3 million CVS donated to 72 organizations nationwide; 65 percent of the money will go to programs that address: autism and early intervention services; informational and technology tools; life and work force skills; and access to health care and medical services.

“[CVS] is pleased to recognize organizations that are truly making an impact in their communities by offering support for children with disabilities and providing access to health care for the uninsured,” said Eileen Howard Dunn, vice president of CVS Caremark Charitable Trust.

CVS also donated to 11 Massachusetts organizations, including the Perkins School for the Blind, Children’s Hospital Boston, and the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
