The session is designed for businesses that are struggling to evaluate insurance for cyber-related losses.

“The insurance is new and complicated, and many organizations don’t know what to ask their broker about coverage and to make sure they are covered for losses that apply to their industry,” said Tech Collective in a statement.

The event’s speakers are Linn F. Freedman of Providence law firm Robinson + Cole, where she chairs its data privacy and cybersecurity team and is also a member of the financial services cyber-compliance team, and Cindy Lepore, assistant vice president at Marsh & McClennan Agency LLC.

Speakers will discuss recent cybersecurity incidents that were not covered by insurance even though companies thought they had purchased cyberliability insurance; the intricacies of cyberliability coverage; common exclusions; and ways to evaluate coverage for rapidly changing laws, regulations and attacks.

The session takes place in the Trilix Training Room at Tech Collective, 188 Valley St., Providence. Registration can be made here.
