PROVIDENCE – Day One, a nonprofit that provides treatment, intervention and prevention services for sexual abuse victims, became the beneficiary of a six-figure federal dollar amount to help the organization upgrade its facility.
Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., announced Tuesday that Day One will receive $500,000 from the federal omnibus bill, which was signed into law back in March. The money, Whitehouse said, will be used by Day One to replace the office’s windows, boiler, entry points and restrooms to make the facility more accessible. Additionally, Day One plans to use the funds to invest in creating energy, cost and work efficiencies that, according to Whitehouse, will allow for smoother administration of Day One’s services.
