The ownership structure of newspapers have joined the discussion about corporate ownership of news media outlets, something that has been a hot button issue for years when it comes to television and radio stations and cable channels. As revenue for newspapers continues to fall, many of the hedge fund or private equity owners of the dailies and weeklies have cut significant portions of their newsroom personnel, which many journalists believe will have an impact on the quality of work that can be done.
