With the debut on April 17 of its Shower to Empower mobile unit, the House of Hope Community Development Corp. believes it can help many of Providence’s homeless to connect with services that could help them. The 20-by-8-foot trailer – funded by the city and a local nonprofit – includes a shower, and a consultation room in which professionals can work with attendees who might have mental health and/or addiction issues, with the goal of finding them permanent housing. Do you think this effort will make a difference by itself?
