Doherty’s Ale House building sold,
to become dog day care

WARWICK – The former Doherty’s Ale House building in Warwick has been sold and will be renovated and converted to a dog day care and spa.

Dogtopia will open a dog day care, boarding facility and spa in the location. The anticipated opening is February 2020.

The property at 30 Jefferson Blvd. covers 7,623 square feet and was sold for $600,000, according to Sweeney Real Estate & Appraisal, which represented the buyers.

Gaspee Real Estate Partners represented the sellers.

Dogtopia, one of the fastest-growing franchises in the pet care industry, has locations throughout Canada and the U.S. and anticipates opening 400 franchises by 2023, according to its website. This is the first retail location planned for Rhode Island.
