Dr. Corey Westerfeld returns to Eye Health Vision Centers

DARTMOUTH – Eye Health Vision Centers announced that Dr. Corey Westerfeld, a medical and surgical retina doctor, has rejoined the practice. He will serve as a retina physician and medical director of eye health at Eye Health Vision Centers. With one location in Middletown and four locations in southeastern Massachusetts, Eye Health Vision Centers is a subsidiary of Claris Vision, which also operates Koch Eye Associates.

Focusing his clinical practice on treating a variety of vision conditions, Westerfeld specializes in macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, vascular disorders of the retina, as well as retina tears and detachments. Initially employed in 2009 by Eye Health, he left there in 2015 to join Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates as a surgical retina physician.

“I am looking forward to rejoining my colleagues and friends at Eye Health,” Westerfeld said in a statement. “The clinicians and staff are truly topnotch and I am excited to work together to grow and expand our ability to offer premium vision services throughout the region.”

He attended the medical school at the University of Texas, graduating as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society, and completed his residency and a fellowship at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. An author of several papers on macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, other pediatric and adult retinal diseases and advanced surgical techniques, Westerfeld has been recognized by the National Eye Institute and the New England Ophthalmological Society.
