CANTON, Mass. – Dunkin’ Donuts unveiled its freshly brewed iced tea last Monday, marketing it as a “refreshing new way to quench … thirst this summer.”
The company, the world’s largest coffee and baked goods chain, said that the product will be available made to order, unsweetened or sweetened in three flavors – original, raspberry and peach. They are billed as a “healthier” beverage option, with only five calories per 16-ounce cup.
In a news release, Dunkin’ Donuts cited data from The NPD Group CREST Services showing that quick-service restaurants in the United States had sold 2.3 billion servings of iced tea last year, which is an 8-percent increase from the previous year.
