EAST GREENWICH – A 9,000-square-foot contemporary home and adjacent land that was acquired by the owner of Tasca Automotive Group has become the highest residential sale in the town’s history.
According to town officials and property records, Carl Tasca Jr. and his wife, Tania, purchased the home from Zachary G. Darrow, chairman of Providence-based law firm DarrowEverett LLP, at 72 Great Road for $3 million. In a separate transaction, Tasca Family Holdings acquired vacant land near the home at 71 Great Road from Darrow Family Holdings for $500,000, town officials told Providence Business News on Tuesday.
In total, the properties were sold for $3.5 million, a town residential sales record. Residential Properties Ltd. further clarified Tuesday that the two sales were included as part of a single sale within the Multiple Listing Service system and that 71 Great Road was not originally listed for sale.
The home includes an in-ground pool, three bedrooms, three bathrooms, three fireplaces, a wine cellar and a home gym with a sauna. The home was previously sold for $325,000 in 2009 and was assessed at $2.5 million, town records show.
Residential Properties represented the seller in the transaction.
(CLARIFICATION: The $3.5 million sale of 72 Great Road in East Greenwich also included the adjacent vacant land at 71 Great Road for $500,000.)
