PROVIDENCE – Luke Ebersold has been named Rhode Island managing partner at Blum, Shapiro & Co., effective immediately, the company announced this week.

Ebersold will succeed Greg Cabral, who is transitioning toward retirement, the company said. Cabral is expected to continue in his role as tax adviser for the firm over the next 18 to 24 months, according to the company. Cabral told the company he will aid Ebersold as long as he is needed in that role, a spokesman for the company told PBN Wednesday.

“Under Greg’s leadership, we have made great strides in the Rhode Island market, and it has been Greg’s keen understanding of the distinctiveness of the Rhode Island market that has helped us to succeed here,” said blumshapiro CEO Joseph Kask.

Ebersold is partner and industry leader of blumshapiro’s Construction and Real Estate Group in Connecticut.

“Luke Ebersold has been a cornerstone at blumshapiro and integral to our growth and success for more than 20 years. Luke’s experience will serve as a tremendous asset to our Rhode Island practice and will be instrumental to our continued growth,” continued Kask.

Ebersold has a residence in Narragansett.

“I am excited and honored by this opportunity, and first and foremost want to thank Greg Cabral for his leadership over the past several years. We would not be where we are today in the Rhode Island market without his talents,” Ebersold said. “My family and I are excited about our move to Rhode Island. For the past several years, we have spent most of our summers here – and now with two children attending Roger Williams University, we have decided to make Rhode Island our permanent home.”
