PROVIDENCE – Evans Capacitor Co. and Jade Manufacturing Co. have each received a 4-Star Supplier Excellence Award from Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems.
A facet of Raytheon’s strategic sourcing programs, the Supplier Excellence Program identifies “mission-critical suppliers for better engagement and communication, provides quantitative and qualitative measurement of supplier performance, and recognizes and rewards top performers who contribute to Raytheon’s business success,” the company says on its website.
Evans, which designs and makes high-power density capacitors that store electrical energy and serves the aerospace and defense markets, has supplied products to Raytheon for more than 18 years, according to a news release.
“It is affirmation that we are providing not just industry-leading technology but also meeting the high expectations for quality and delivery that our customers need,” said Colin McClennan, vice president and general manager of Evans Capacitor Co, in a statement.
Founded in 1996 by David Evans, who has more than 20 patents, Evans Capacitor also has a satellite facility in Sanford, Maine.
Evans and Warwick-based Jade Manufacturing, also a defense-industry supplier, were the only Rhode Island companies to be named 4-Star winners. Electronic-parts supplier Staffall Inc. in Cranston was named a 3-Star winner.
Two companies in Bristol County, Mass., were also named winners: Barry Industries Inc., an electronic-parts supplier in Attleboro, and Bristol Tape Corp., a manufacturer in Fall River, were both named 3-Star winners.
Overall, there were 130 companies named Raytheon IDS 2019 Supplier Excellence Award winners, consisting of 37 3-Star winners, 77 4-Star winners and 16 5-Star winners.
