The Rhode Island Interfaith Coalition to Reduce Poverty is hosting their 10th annual vigil Wednesday, January 3rd from 3 PM to 4 PM. The vigil will be held at the State House Rotunda, 82 Smith Street, Providence RI.
The Rhode Island Interfaith Coalition to Reduce Poverty organizes Rhode Island’s faith community to connect the common threads of faith and tradition in order to build awareness, accompany, empower, and advocate for communities struggling with poverty.
The Coalition believes Every Rhode Islander deserves: a safe affordable home, they deserve food and nutrition, equal access to affordable and quality health care, equal and quality education for all children, and decent work with adequate income. No matter what race/ethnicity, religion, immigration status, gender, age or socioeconomic standing.
Come gather in peace to bear witness to our diverse faith community that cares for all. There will be a chance to propose potential policies for legislative action in 2018. Join leaders from faith communities across the state to call on our elected officials with care compassion and wisdom. Finally, you will get a chance to offer and receive inspiration and encouragement throughout the struggle for economic justice.
