WASHINGTON – The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. has appointed a new ombudsman to act as a liaison to bankers and the public.
The FDIC this month appointed M. Anthony Lowe, a 32-year veteran of the federal agency, to take over as ombudsman and director of the Office of the Ombudsman.

Learn MoreLowe, who most recently served in Chicago, will be responsible for dealing directly with bankers, industry representatives, community groups and members of the public.
“The office serves as both a resource and liaison to facilitate the resolution of issues with financial institutions fairly and impartially,” according to the FDIC.
The federal agency insures deposits at banks throughout Rhode Island and the rest of the country.
