University of Rhode Island economist Leonard Lardaro is often seen as a “gloomy Gus” when it comes to his read on Rhode Island in his Current Conditions Index. But his most recent CCI showed that 2017 so far has been a much better one than 2016, with the state’s economy showing “sustained acceleration in the pace of economic activity compared to last year.”
Do you see that kind of momentum through the first five months of 2017 in your business? Is the Ocean State finally recovered from the Great Recession or is the CCI reading just a short-term bounce-back from an especially weak showing in the early parts of 2016??
